Industrial Relations Manager - Representative Body

Contract: 12-month FTC


Overview:

Our client, the largest teachers’ organization in Ireland, representing 52,000 members in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, seeks an Industrial Relations Manager for a 12-month FTC. The role involves providing practical support to members on legal and industrial relations matters.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned casework in line with section policies

  • Represent members individually and collectively at various forums

  • Conduct research, prepare, and edit correspondence to a high standard

  • Advise members on legal, employment, and industrial relations matters

  • Represent members and our client with external agencies

  • Design and deliver training modules

  • Stay current on relevant legislation and case law

  • Perform necessary administrative duties for effective organization

  • Undertake projects and tasks as assigned


Requirements:

  • Relevant third-level qualification with a minimum of five years' professional experience

  • In-depth understanding of educational, legal, and industrial relations issues

  • Strong understanding of the client and its priorities

  • Excellent work ethic, ability to act independently, and a positive approach

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration

  • Excellent oral communication, presentation, and writing skills

  • Organizational and time management skills with a calm and competent approach

  • Project management skills for successful task completion

  • Proficient IT and research skills

  • Willingness to work flexibly, including outside normal hours when required

  • Commitment to providing quality service and contributing to organizational objectives

  • Capacity to work across all office departments if assigned by the General Secretary
