About the Role

We’re partnering with a leading international organisation within the consumer goods sector to hire a Public Affairs & Government Relations Manager in Ireland.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of policy, politics, and business strategy. You’ll lead engagement with government, regulators, and key stakeholders, while shaping the organisation’s position on evolving legislation and public policy.

With significant regulatory change underway in Ireland, this role offers the opportunity to play a visible and influential part in shaping the external environment and supporting long-term business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engagement with government departments, public officials, regulators, and key external stakeholders
• Develop and deliver public affairs and advocacy strategies aligned to business priorities
• Monitor and interpret legislative and policy developments in Ireland and at EU level
• Prepare high-quality briefing materials, position papers, and consultation responses
• Represent the organisation across industry groups, forums, and external networks
• Build and maintain strong relationships with political, regulatory, and industry stakeholders
• Support internal teams with regulatory insight and guidance on reputational risk
• Contribute to campaigns that support policy objectives and protect the operating environment
• Track media and policy trends, providing timely updates and strategic advice to leadership

About You

• 5+ years’ experience in public affairs, government relations, policy, or communications
• Strong understanding of the Irish political and regulatory landscape (EU exposure a plus)
• Existing network across government, policy, or media is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling messaging
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment
• Collaborative mindset with experience working across internal and external stakeholders
