Spencer Recruitment is seeking a senior public affairs leader for a high-profile national sporting organisation. This newly created permanent role carries a clear mandate to strengthen the organisation’s voice across Government, politics, and the wider sporting landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive public and government affairs strategy
• Build relationships with Government departments, political representatives, public bodies, and local authorities
• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments relevant to sport and community investment
• Design and lead advocacy campaigns aligned to organisational priorities
• Prepare briefings, policy positions, submissions, and speeches
• Represent the organisation at meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements

About You

• 10+ years’ experience in public affairs, government relations, advocacy, or political communications
• Direct experience engaging with Ireland’s political system and a strong existing network
• Proven track record in advocacy and stakeholder engagement strategy
• Excellent written, verbal, and relationship-building skills
• Able to operate credibly with senior stakeholders and translate complex issues into clear messages
• Full, clean driving licence required; knowledge of the sporting sector advantageous
