Spencer Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with Disability Federation of Ireland to recruit a Communications Manager.

DFI is a pan-disability federation representing over 100 member organisations. Its mission is to work with members, disabled people, allies and the State to drive full inclusion and equity across Irish society.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced communications professional who wants to work in a purpose-led organisation at the centre of disability advocacy, member engagement and public awareness.

The Communications Manager will play a key role in delivering high-quality internal and external communications across DFI, its member organisations and wider stakeholder network.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing DFI’s communications strategy
• Managing internal and external communications across multiple channels
• Creating written, visual and digital content
• Managing DFI’s website, social media, newsletters and CRM communications
• Supporting advocacy and awareness campaigns, including Budget submissions and Make Way Day
• Building relationships with media, stakeholders and communications leads across member organisations
• Supporting events, campaigns and member engagement activity
• Monitoring analytics and reporting on communications performance
• Ensuring communications are accessible, including plain English, alt text and captions
• Supporting staff and spokespeople with media and communications activity

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 3 years’ relevant communications experience
• Strong writing, storytelling and content creation skills
• Experience across social media, digital communications and analytics
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• An understanding of media relations and reputation management
• The ability to work collaboratively across teams
• A strong commitment to accessibility, inclusion and the voluntary sector

Experience in a membership organisation, advocacy environment, charity, NGO or public-facing communications role would be highly relevant.
