Spencer Recruitment is partnering with an established strategic communications and public affairs consultancy to recruit an experienced Account Director.

The Role

A senior client-leadership position combining public affairs, political and policy advice, strategic communications, media relations and stakeholder engagement.

You will lead major accounts, advise senior executives and oversee integrated campaigns for clients operating in complex political, regulatory and reputational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead major client accounts and act as a trusted adviser to senior executives
• Provide strategic advice across public affairs, corporate communications and reputation management
• Translate political, policy and regulatory developments into clear client strategies
• Develop and deliver integrated public affairs and communications campaigns
• Lead government relations, stakeholder engagement and media activity
• Strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities for account growth
• Lead pitches, proposals, tenders and other new-business activity
• Manage and mentor account teams
• Oversee budgets, profitability, resources and programme delivery

Requirements

• Approximately five years’ relevant experience in public affairs, government relations or strategic communications
• Strong knowledge of the Irish political, regulatory and media environment
• Proven experience leading senior client or stakeholder relationships
• Experience developing integrated communications or public affairs programmes
• Strong writing, presentation and strategic advisory skills
• Experience managing teams, budgets and account profitability
• A track record of contributing to pitches, proposals or business development
• Consultancy, agency, in-house, membership-body or political experience considered
• Knowledge of EU or UK affairs is advantageous
